HOW TO FIND YOUR FLAWS?

HOW TO FIND YOUR WEAKNESSES

The Journey of “How to Find Your FLAWS” started in 2016. It was a cold night in December in Islamabad, Pakistan. My friends and I were wandering on the capital city’s roads, finding good tea spots to enrich our cold nights with a warm cup. We were discussing so many things along the way as we were preparing for our exams for military selection. We were discussing geopolitics, global affairs, military powers, international relations, etc. After walking for kilometers in a light fog, we sat down on a footpath to rest for a while.

We changed Our topics and focused on questions related to our “self”. Like our goals, what is our vision, and why we want to join the army, and suddenly a question popped up in my mind about which we both were utterly clueless. I read that question in a textbook for military exams. The question was, “Pen down your five demerits?”

What? Demerits? We never thought about that? Yes, we have them but don’t know anything about them. This question made us curious. Now we were thinking, “How to Find Your FLAWS” We were eager to find an answer to this question but were clueless. Google was not helping, the book was not providing any assistance, and we didn’t have any third resource to consult.

So, what do you think about my demerits? My friend asked me curiously. I hesitated at first because we humans don’t like telling people about things they do poorly. But after a few seconds, I found this the only way to find answers. We don’t know ourselves, but we know each other. Possessive & lazy, I said. He stared at me, and I asked him the same question before he could slap me. “Shy and bookish,” he said. So, these were the first times we knew about our demerits, our weaknesses.

Though I couldn’t pass my medical test for the army as being bookish doesn’t help there. Two years later, when I was writing the first draft of my book “The. Art of Becoming A Champion Student”, I thought about adding this question to the first chapter’s action plan. This book was published on 4th August 2019, and till today, I got countless messages of gratitude from readers about my book.  They loved those action plans and considered them as a gateway for “Self Discovery.”

The purpose of telling this story is to tell you that when you are unable to find your fault lines, your. Demerits, your weaknesses, your shortcomings, consult your closest allies. Your friends, your family, and your teachers. They will tell you things you need to work on. They will tell you that you are “Shy and bookish.” They will be honest with you. Once you know what you are lacking, you can work to manage that. You can manage your possessiveness, anger, shyness, introversion, and so much more.

Always remember that diagnosis is the first step in treatment. With this simple Activity, you will be able to diagnose your demerits, and you can improve yourself afterward. So, this was all about “How to Find Your FLAWS”
