When We Google “ How to Have Unlimited Focus ” We Come across countless articles on this topic. But as a Psychologist, I have always found one key element missing from all those articles: alignment. Suppose you are unboxing a new iPhone, and I ask you to turn it On without opening its box. You will stare at me and ask, “Are you mentally stable”? How can I switch on my phone without opening the box?
That’s what most blogs will tell you. They will ask you to schedule your time, make a to-do list and then ask you for a journal. This is not how habits stick. If you want to add something to your life, you have to program it in your subconscious. if you want to know the answer to “How to Have Unlimited Focus” The Very Step is to sit with a pen & paper and ask yourself a straightforward question.
1-Why do you need to have a Unlimited Focus?
Why do you truly need that?
Is something disturbing your life?
Is something affecting your productivity?
Is there something you need to achieve?
Are you aiming to be more productive in your life?
Are you tired of distractions, or is it just a lesson from some book that Inspired you to focus? The more meaningful your answer is, the more focused you will be. 92% of us really don’t know why we have to focus. Without a proper way, anyhow is useless. Find a Good reason first & then Continue to step two.
2-Pen Down Your Prioritise
Make of list of all those tasks that require your complete attention. It can be writing, reading, cooking, playing guitar, or anything else. With our priority, there is no focus because you can only focus on a handful amount of tasks. You can’t focus on everything; you can’t focus every time. You need to short-list things carrying utmost Importance.
3-Eat Your Most Important Task First
The science of hyperfocus is all about scheduling your task at the right time. Your focus hour in the evening will be useless if your task requires maximum energy at that time. Because in the evening, we are left with a small amount of energy after a full day of routine tasks. So, try to do your prioritized task in the early morning or an after a brief break/nap. Your energy levels will determine your focus level. So, eat your Most Important tasks first & do other tasks after completing your essential tasks.
4-Not-To-Do List
Knowing what not to do is more important than knowing what to do. Pen down things that you should not do. It can be “Not using Instagram for more than 30 minutes”. Spending less time watching Netflix etc.
5-Effective To-Do List
Now you are left with a handful amount of tasks to focus on. Prioritize first, which requires the most energy. Make a daily chart with a box/section of the evaluation.
6-Evaluate Your Day
No Need for any explanations; just look at your to-do tasks of the day. Congratulate, reward yourself for things you have achieved, and question yourself for things you couldn’t. Demand valid reasons, confront your laziness, and devise new rules to be more focused. Think of your own ways to be more focused.
I Hope now you are closer to your answer to “How to Have Unlimited Focus,” and you need to focus on your inner self to find the only correct answer. I Cant teach you anything; I Can only make you think (Socrates).
