It’s August 14th, My Birthday. I turned 25 today & I am truly grateful to the systems of nature for making me able to do so much in my life. In the past seven years, along with my education. I published five books, nine courses, 100+ Blogs, 50+ training seminars & much more. I achieved everything because I was able to understand one key point about achieving more than most of my age fellows miss.
It’s 08:30 pm: silence and stillness time. I am sitting at my desk writing this blog for you. An hour ago, I was reviewing my annual goals for the year 2023. I set 12 goals by the start of this year & today, after eight months and 14 days, I realize that 4 out of them are completely irrelevant now. Not because I have switched my career or something, but just because I was so focused on innovating new things that few new things replaced those four goals. For most of people out there, it is a sign of inconsistency; for me, it is a blessing.
Out of 100% of people, only 3% set goals, 1% write them on paper, 0.5% put them somewhere they can see daily & hardly 0.1% follow them. But the best part is; only 0.02% innovate them. These 0.02% of people are actual winners of this game.
We all know the reasons why we often fail to stick with our plans and why we don’t find ourselves committed to our cause. We lack ingredients like clarity, effort, willpower, consistency, and more. The absence of anyone can negatively influence our capacity to reach goals.
Today, we will discuss the formula to reach “0.02%” people. People who actually achieve more than what they strive for. People who are actual achievers, as per “Strength Finder by Donald Clifton”. People who update themselves every day, week & month.
When I look back to my yearly goals for the year 2022 and what I achieved by the end of 2022, I find myself deviating from the tasks I aimed for. But, Interestingly, I find myself in a better place. Here is what I have to say about this.
We Change every single Moment.
The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, “Change is the Only Constant,” & we all believe that. But as a psychologist, let me add value to your understanding of this quote. “We Change every single moment.” Yes, we do. Every moment we are exposed to hundreds of new stimuli on a subconscious level. Right now, my fingers are getting more and more skilled in typing faster. My brain is in a flow of thoughts that my neurons are transmitting, and I am putting them on my blog file. My ears are absorbing every bit of frequency coming out of my AirPods, which are playing relaxing music & so on. To cut a long story short, I am getting better every minute. Maybe at a very minute level, but this compounding will definitely yield some results.
We Adobpt New Ventures
If I am learning every moment. How will my priorities be as exact as they were six months ago? Think of your goals when you were in school. Are you still pursuing them? I bet not. You have changed. You are an Improved version of yourself. You have new priorities, new goals. So, if you are learning & reflecting much on your short-term goals, you will keep updating your short-term goals. You will not follow something you aimed for a year ago. That is a sign of your improvement.
Long-Term Goals/ Vision
Though our short-term goal changes every few months, our long-term goals remain the same unless there is a swift/drastic change in your personality. Our long-term goals hardly change if they are deeply connected with our meaning in life. But they will keep changing if you haven’t found yourself yet. To find yourself, you have to explore your skills, strengths, and personality type. You can take my help by booking a 45 Minute Self Discovery Session with me online. When you find yourself, your end goal will become consistent. However, you will keep finding new and improved ways to reach your goals. For example, by the start of the year, you planned to read 30 books in the following year. By the mid of March, you have realized that you are not much into books, but you can learn better through audio. You can change your learning method & shift your learning style from “reading” to “listening” books. But your long-term ” Learning ” goal will stay the same every day.
Conclusion:
To be among 0.02% of people who achieve more than they strive for, you must keep adopting advanced ways to reach your goals. You need to follow, learn & reflect on your goals and you will definitely end up being a high achiever.
