Types of Pakistani Students is a sum of my insights which I am writing in this Blog about the four types of students you will find in Pakistani Classrooms. Its been six years in the education sector of Pakistan. I have worked as a teacher, trainer, counsellor and more. I have visited schools, established my own academy, had the opportunity to talk with students in one-on-one counselling sessions and taught over 3000 students in physical classes. In the context of this whole journey, here is how I categorize students into four different types.
#1: Blessed
In every classroom of 50 students, there are hardly 5 students that fit my definition of blessed students. #1 of “Types of Pakistani Students” are “Blessed” For me, blessed students are not merely about intelligence; it is about intrinsic motives, discipline, drive, and relevant intelligence (among 9 types of intelligence), making them perfect students. Their parents don’t force them to study, their teachers don’t worry about them and they mostly work in auto-pilot style. They eat, study, sleep and repeat. They always get good marks and are considered star students in their classes.
#2: Multi-dimensional
#2 of “Types of Pakistani Students” are “Multi-Dimensional Students”. These are second-grade students who possess the same intelligence as “blessed” ones but they differ in one thing “discipline”. They are partially driven by internal motives and need external motives and stress to study. They are a bit lacking in self-management and persistence, leading to engagement in different types of activities. They are open to experiences and like to explore new things. At the same type, they possess a higher level of intelligence leading to good academic performance.
3-Carts:
#3 of “Types of Pakistani Students” are Carts. You need to push them if you want to move them forward. They only depend on external factors like punishment, deadlines and stress etc. Even with these external factors, they will perform average and do just the bare minimum. They are average in IQ and self-management, leading to average academic performance; however, they are good in their personal life. They socialize and do things that make them happy.
4-Big Stones
#4 of “Types of Pakistani Students” are “Big Stones”. Have you ever tried to push a big stone weighing tons of pounds? Did that move? No? Same is the case for the fourth type of student. Neither driven by internal motives nor external drives. They do less than the bare minimum, mostly leading to failure. They have no interest in books and other stuff and will escape school if given a chance.
This was all for today. Let me know your thoughts by commenting below what “Type” of student you are.
